Quickly adopted as the House Drink at TDBAB, the Lemon Drop Martini has developed an international following. We have long ago learned that when a guest asks for a recipe, it's not likely for the Roasted Cherry Tomato Clafoutis, so here goes: Lemon Drop Martini(Classic Version) This version has its origins at Episode Cafe in Toronto 1½ cups Vodka Shake vigorously over ice cubes and strain into chilled martini glasses each rimmed with sugar and garnished with a lemon slice. Serves, oh, maybe two? |
Lemon Drop Martini (New Version - for the Weaker of Heart*) This version has its origins at McCormick & Schmick's in San Diego 1½ cups lemon juice Shake vigorously over ice cubes and strain into chilled martini glasses each rimmed with sugar and garnished with a lemon slice.
Beware! This version is much more potent! Lemon Drop Martini - Lite This version has its origins after we did a calorie count on the one above! 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice Yes, that's all the taste without the sugar! As the evening progresses, increase the amount of Crystal Light Lemonade. Or ... prepare two shakers. One with straight Lemonade. Serve this one when appropriate (like, to yourself!).
*grapefruit juice should not be combined with certain medications |
